Northern communities often rely on hydrocarbons transported by truck, train, and boat as their main source of energy, with obvious financial and environmental costs. Access to alternative and affordable energy sources, such as geothermal and photovoltaic systems, wind and nuclear energy, could reduce these costs and ensure the sustainable development of northern communities. Join this plenary’s national and international experts in a discussion on innovative and viable solutions towards a renewable energy future in the Arctic.
